TRAGIC TWIST OF FATE: MOM WHO BEAT CANCER WHILE PREGNANT DIES OF HEART FAILURE ONE DAY AFTER GIVING BIRTH TO TWINS

FRESNO, CA — A mother of four who had successfully battled cancer throughout her pregnancy died of heart failure this week just one day after giving birth to twins.

Jamie Snider, 30, of Fresno, California, had already beaten cervical cancer once and was devastated to learn that the deadly disease had returned not long after finding out that she was pregnant with twins.

Already the mother of two young girls, Snider underwent aggressive chemotherapy throughout her pregnancy and was scheduled to undergo a full hysterectomy after a scheduled C-section.

“Tomorrow will be a great day,” Snider posted on her Facebook page, the day before her planned c-section. “God has been by my side the whole time. All your prayers and love have kept me going as well. Wish me luck. I’m having a C-section at 7 and then a radical hysterectomy right after. I’ll be fine. Thank you, God, for keeping me positive through all the hard times.”

Although Snider survived the surgeries, she succumbed to congestive heart surgery only one day later.

“What gives me peace in my heart is she got to see those babies and hold them and be with them a little bit,” Larina Campanile, a long time friend of Snider’s, told ABC 7 (http://abc7ny.com/society/mom-kicks-cancer-during-pregnancy-delivers-twins-dies-a-day-later/1813949/).

The twins, whom Snider named Nico and Camila, and their older sisters Aubrey and Maddie, are now in the custody of their father who says he will relocate to New Hampshire to live with family.

Three GoFundMe pages have been set up to raise money for Snider’s children and to help cover the cost of funeral expenses.
